Mark did a wonderful job of designing for and situating our new home on a somewhat difficult lot for building. It left the driveway, garden, terrace and curbside exposure just right. The exterior design nicely fits our neighborhood yet projects a somewhat more contemporary feel, which is just what we wanted. Our desire to have the outside felt inside the home was mastered with window and door placement and size. Specific requests for the interior spaces was totally met with his design. Mark’s experience and attitude made this project extremely successful.

Mark Sinsky is a passionate, talented architect. At our initial meeting, Mark had already visited our lot and had a vision for our home. We fell in love with the design concept and decided after that first meeting that we would work with Mark. We live 900 miles away from our build-site and Mark is always available for a quick phone call and accommodates us when we need to schedule a meeting while visiting Asheville. He also does an excellent job representing our best interest with the builder. We love our final design and would highly recommend Mark.

We are completing a remodel of a vintage, pine-paneled, lakefront home at Lake Lure, NC. Mark has done an extraordinary job of maintaining the homey, relaxed atmosphere and our view of the lake is even more spectacular than before.
In a most cost effective, stunning way he has opened our den by adding 3 stunning Panda doors which open to the porch which has been doubled (only 6’6” in size prior to remodel) in size and is closer to the lake. A beautiful spiral staircase off the porch provides easy access to the boathouse. The new master bedroom above the porch (we are calling “the nest”) gives a truly amazing view of the lake. Two new, crisp updated but still vintage looking bathrooms now give us five bathrooms and six bedrooms for our family that now totals 18 when my wife and I, five children, spouses and grandchildren gather for awesome family events!
Mark’s vision and design skills at creating a new, refreshing but aged, unique look for our special lakefront home are remarkable!

Mark Sinsky is an extremely talented architect (artist). His design for our home blended seamlessly with the contour of the land. Mark listened to our thoughts and added his original ideas to create a design that met our needs. He then took the time to explain the importance of the different aspects of his design. . Mark was there before, during and is still there after the construction was completed. Equally important, Mark is a thoughtful and caring person. Susan and David Feuer

Location: The Ramble, Asheville, North Carolina

Mark designed our gorgeous 4BR, 5Ba Craftsman-style house in Asheville NC. Years later, we still walk in the door almost every day and say to ourselves something like, “Aren’t we glad we did this … and aren’t we glad we had Mark Sinsky as our architect?” We love our house and always will. Mark is a gifted and creative architect, but he’s also practical. He knows how a family will use a house as the years go by, and he designs a home to be lived in as well as to evoke admiration from every guest who enters the door. Mark enjoys getting the most out of difficult sites; our home is on a hillside, yet everywhere we walk in our house, on all three floors, we can seamlessly flow outdoors at ground level. We give two pieces of advice to everyone in Asheville who asks (and lots of people ask after they see our home): First, use an architect. A plan-book house might save money up front, but there’s no way a plan-book house can be sited to flow on your site unless you live in Kansas and admire cookie-cutter neighborhoods. And you’ll make up the “savings” in the long run. Second, use Mark Sinsky specifically. He’s talented, experienced, realistic, easy to work with, and he’ll supervise construction in a positive, collaborative way with your builder. Mark has our highest recommendation.

Location: Walnut Cove, Arden, North Carolina

Last year, we hired Mark Sinsky to design our dream home in Asheville, NC, while we are living in Houston, TX. Mark was very thoughtful about our desires and wishes for our home, while also being respectful of the property we had chosen and how to make the best use of all our spectacular views. We got so much more than architectural drawings and specifications. We appreciate all of the creativity, thought, and heart that he put into the design of our home. It’s EXACTLY why we wanted him on our team, especially since we were hundreds of miles away from the construction which began last year. Mark made many visits to our home and kept us completely up to date on any issues that needed adjustments and worked closely with our builder. Mark has created a real masterpiece , that we will enjoy throughout our retirement. (I resubmitting this because the project price was incorrect). Houzz only gives the option to show the project is over 100k, but you can see from the pictures, the upscale beautiful homes that Mark specifically creates for each individual home, while staying within any budget restraints requested by his clients. As the homeowners, we appreciated his detailed drawings that allowed us to determine where best to use our funds. It was a very pleasant experience working with Mark, and would definitely highly recommend AND use him again in the future!
